Introducing Yazzem 2.0!

Today, we are very excited to announce the official launch of Yazzem 2.0! This version brings in many new features, including a new redesign, Latest Activity, and designs.

The Redesign – After much planning, we decided a new redesign would definitely fit the launch of 2.0. This new look brings in new functionality, such as designs you can choose from.

Latest Activity – This is the main feature 2.0 was built around. Latest Activity brings in the real-time feel to Yazzem, so you know when people (you subscribe to) start new topics, join topics, and what their latest status is.

Designs – Yes, you read that right. Just go to Settings > Design > and choose a theme to further customize Yazzem to your likings.

A Minor Detail – URL’s will now link so you can share links to a website or article you found. After using the new 2.0, you will notice some other minor improvements too.

Also, great thanks to Daniel Brusilovsky for the great Techcrunch article about Yazzem 2.0!

Yazzem 2.0 Beta

Yesterday, we sent out an email about the Yazzem 2.0 Beta:

Today, we are proud to announce the Yazzem 2.0 Beta, which is filled with tons of great new features, and a redesign.

To test out the beta, go to: http://beta.yazzem.com

With this, we have introduced a real-time Latest Activity feed that let’s you know what people you subscribe to are doing. (Subscriptions/Subscribers are just purely a name change of Contacts.)

A major thing we also introduced is a full blown redesign of Yazzem that is easier on the eyes and easier to use.

That’s just listing a few things, though, so go check it out and let us know what you think!

We are very excited about this, and by next week, we will launch it officially.

New Design Plus a New Friend

As you probably have noticed already, there is a new design – that is wickedly awesome! You can see that it brings in a cleaner, smoother, and just more enjoyable feel to Yazzem.

This could not of been possible without the talented Felipe Gomez over at 12fruits.com for creating the graphics. He said he would have the new graphics in 3 weeks, but had them ready in 2 days!

Also, I would like to introduce the newest member to the Yazzem team (well, not literally). Who is he? He’s a cute, yet mischievous alien we are taking care of til further notice. In the next few weeks, you’ll be seeing a lot more of him.

Hope you like the new design and our new friend!

Thanks,
Zachary Collins

Start Connecting Even More With the New Contacts Feature

Let’s face it. We all know it’s hard to find others on Yazzem again after visiting their profile…but that has all changed with the new Contacts feature released tonight. This will allow you to easily add anyone on Yazzem to your Contacts list, so you can easily find them and leave them comments.

All you have to do is visit someone’s profile, and right under their profile pic and username, you’ll see a link that says “Add to Contacts”. Click it and you have just added that person. Or course, you can always remove them from your list, too.

Give it a try by adding me or Dustin to your Contacts.

P.S. If you need help, just visit the Help Center.

Need Help or Have a Question? – Visit help.yazzem.com

This week has been very exciting with some great improvements to Yazzem. Including the new profile comments feature, which is already showing it’s power and popularity.

However, with all of these great new things, or for just new members, you always run into questions. That’s why today, I am proud to announce the new Help Center found at help.yazzem.com!

You’ll now be able to search questions and tutorials that will help you get to know Yazzem. And, if you can’t find exactly what your looking for, just ask us a question yourself and we’ll be more than glad to answer.

Hope you enjoy and it comes in handy.

Nazzem = Yazzem + Ning

Since launch, I have been intensively developing Nazzem. Nazzem is the simplest and fastest way to integrate your Yazzem topic into your Ning network. Nazzem uses built-in features in both platforms and brings them together with a few lines of code. Topics are then added to a new page on your Ning network allowing your members to post status updates to that topic. Nazzem should be ready for public beta sometime late next week.

If you have any questions, feel free to e-mail me at dustin@nazzem.yazzem.com or leave me a comment.

Profile Comments Are Here!

All day I’ve been working on a much needed feature and now it’s here: Profile Comments! This means you can now visit anyone’s profile page and leave a comment for them. Give it a try by visiting my profile and leaving me a comment.

One other thing I would like to mention (and will talk more about later) is the upcoming project, Nazzem, which stands for Ning + Yazzem. Nazzem generates a code for any topic that you can place into your Ning network! Check out this screenshot to get an idea of what it does.

If you have any questions, leave me or Dustin a comment!

A Week In Review

With out first week of launching, we have gotten much feedback, listened, and then improved Yazzem by adding tons of great features. We are so excited for what’s happening now and what’s planned for the future (more on that later). So, in case you missed anything this past week, I have listed all the great updates and tweaks we’ve made to Yazzem.

Profile Pages – This was one of the most requested things and just something we ourselves wanted. So, you can now visit others profile pages and read their status, bio, etc.
Status Updates – This wasn’t actually a requested feature, but we knew it was a good idea. The status feature lets you answer the simple question, “What’s Your Status?”. So, you can say something like, “I am checking out Yazzem (and love it!)”
See who created which topic – It’s kind of nice to see who created which topic, so we made a minor tweak that shows the starter of each topic.
Newly designed Dashboard – Even though we’ve gone through many different Dashboard designs, we finally created one that worked.

Yazzem is coming along great and we hope you are as excited as we are!

Introducing Profile Pages

As a much requested feature, we have added profile pages. You can now view other’s profiles with their full name, bio, website, and location. Your own profile can be found by clicking the “Profile” link in the header.

Give us your feedback…we love it!

Some Minor Updates and Features

Since launch, we have gotten much feedback. So, we had to do something about all of the feature requests and ideas we received from our wonderful users. I listed the small updates and features we added:

Get to know others better – You can now hover over user’s avatars or name and a little box will appear that shows their full name, bio, and location. We are planning on profile pages for the near future with some sweet surprises.
Who started which topic? – Before, topics just showed the name, description, and creation date. But now you can see who started each topic…except only new topics started will show this. The old ones will not display who started which topic.

Thank you all for the great feedback and just starting new topics. It helps so much. But don’t worry, even bigger and better features are coming soon!
